THE new blueprint for Blues’ stadium development falls well short of expectations.
The role of the council needs to be redefined with the first task being to assemble the various land holdings, then construct the stadium to a high specification and lease it to the football club as is the case in Colchester.
Blues’ fans deserve superb facilities and the local community should have use on non-matchdays.
There needs to be a big reduction in the number of homes planned for the Fossetts Farm site because the local road network can’t cope with it all.
Lastly, we should all engage in a public debate on entering into a partnership with multi-billionaire property tycoons.
We are signing up to a non-conventional and potentially risky financial arrangement which is heavily skewed in their favour.
