THE latest coroanvirus figures have shown a jump of 68 cases in Basildon in a single day.
In the Essex County Council area, Public Health England figures show that 20,600 people had tested positive for the virus as of 4pm on Sunday.
This is a rise of 287 on Saturday, with a rolling seven day infection rate average of 135.6.
In Southend the figures show that 2,467 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am today, up 30 on Saturday.
In Basildon, the seven day average infection rate stood at 274.6 cases per 100,000 people as of 4pm on Sunday.
The area has now recorded 3,622 cases, a rise of 68 on Saturday.
In Thurrock, the infection rate stood at 207.6 cases per 100,000 people, with a total of 2,988 cases as of 4pm on Sunday.
