STUART Bingham came back from the brink to win a tense final frame against Joel Walker in an epic contest at the UK Championship.
The 38-year-old from Vange won 6-5 against the up and coming youngster to move into the competition’s fourth round at the Barbican Centre, in York, although the encounter was in the balance until the death.
Bingham looked in trouble at the onset of the contest, as he was 3-0 down to the 20-year-old.
But he battled back to lead 5-4, needing just one frame to win.
However, his opponent wasn’t finished and brought the match back to 5-5 before taking the first 35 points in the final frame.
But Bingham took advantage of a missed pot by the world 105 and made an impressive clearance to set up a clash with Ricky Walden, after he eased into the next round with a 6-1 win over Ken Doherty.
