BILLERICAY Town marched into quarter-finals of the Ryman League Cup with a narrow win over AFC Hornchurch.
Town won 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from substitute Rowan Liburd. The rangy striker came on as a replacement for the injured Ricky Sappleton and continued where he left off, having scored a brace in Saturday's 3-0 win over Met Police.
Liburd nicked in at the far post early after the break to secure the win and set up a quarter-final with Whyteleafe FC, who are fifth in Ryman One South.
The game will be played next Monday.
In the Ryman Premier League, East Thurrock United claimed a valiant point at play-off rivals Hendon.
Rocks had taken an early lead through Kye Ruel but John Coventry's side were pegged back on the half-hour mark by Charlie Goode.
The result leaves East Thurrock in the final play-off position, three points behind Hendon having played two games more.
