IT is one of the biggest days on the local soccer scene on Sunday when the Southend Junior League cup finals are staged at Roots Hall.

Hundreds of mums, dads, aunts, uncles, grans and grand-dads, plus brothers, sisters and pals will pile into Southend United's home to watch the stars of tomorrow enjoy their big moment of glory.

It all gets underway at 9.30am with play continuing for around 10 hours.

Getting proceedings underway is the under-11 Roy Chaplin Memorial Cup at 9.30am when Ashingdon Youth B meet Concord Rangers A.

All trophy and medal presentations, apart from the under-13s, will be made by divisional secretaries with Jackie Pavitt carrying out the under-11 duties. The under-12s battle for the Malcolm Stockwell Memorial Cup at 10.45am with Concord in action against Elmwood Colts A.

Presentations will be made by Andy Hammond.

Next into action, at 12.15pm, are the under-16s who will be playing for the Trophy Factory Cup.

Shore Athletic A will play Rayleigh Boys A, with Steve Radley handing out the honours.

Rayleigh are again in action at 2.15pm with their A team meeting Canvey Island Youth A for the under-15 Confederation Life Cup, with Ray Toulson doing the presentations.

At 4pm it is the Spartan Athletic Cup where Canvey Island Youth A and Dark Lane Dynamos A will be fighting for the under-14 honours, which Denise Webster will hand out.

Finally, at 5.30pm, Concord Rangers will be in action for a third time on the day with their under-13 A side meeting their counterparts from Bowers & Pitsea for the Lesney Cup.

One final has already been decided, with Ekco Whitecaps A having overcome Fairfax Rangers 2-0 to win the under-18 SX Sports Teamwear Cup.
