JENNY Pease, who topped the qualifiers and was in sparkling form over the three days, won the Essex Ladies Golf Championship.
The event was staged at Thorpe Hall as part of the club's centenary celebrations and Pease (21) from Brentwood beat Emma Cutmore (Colne Valley) 4 and 3 in the final.
The last two local player departed at the semi-final stage with Rochford's Amy Harrold losing 6 and 5 to Pease.
At the quarter-final stage Thorpe's own former champion Sally Barber lost 4 and 3 to Colne Valley's Cutmore (18).
Other quarter-final results: Pease beat Alana van Greuning (Hylands) 5 and 4; Harrold beat Gail McKemmie (Crondon Park) 5 and 4; Nicola Race (Chelmsford) beat Daisy Dyer (Chigwell) at the 21st.
In the semi-finals Cutmore beat Nicola Race 5 and 4.
