HAVING been broad and bred in Southampton, Southend United goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan is relishing his first ever appearance at their St Mary's home on Sunday.
The talented shot-stopper also started his career with the Saints before leaving after nine years without making a first team appearance to join Woking when he was 21.
"I got close to playing a few times but it never happened and when I was let go it was a big disappointment," said Flahavan.
"I'm a Southampton boy, so of course I dreamed of playing for my home town club and this is the match I have been looking forward to most all season.
"It was the first one I looked for when the fixtures came out, but I just wish we wee going there in differenent cicrumstances."
As it stands however, the Shrimpers have already been condemned to relegation from the Championship and will be playing in League One next season.
