Whitehawk 0–2 Concord Rangers
From the Enclosed Ground
National League South
CONCORD Rangers upset the odds to secure a third straight league win at high-flying Whitehawk.
Whitehawk were in the play-off places ahead of the match but goals from Adam Bailey-Dennis and Jordan Cox handed the Beach Boys all three points and lift them to 12th and further away from the relegation places.
And they set the pace early on as well, albeit without creating any clear cut chances although Ben Greenhalgh was denied what would have been a deserved goal by a fine save from Craig Ross.
Adam Flanagan’s side were then dealt a blow when lively winger Joe Gardner was taken off with an injury, and Whitehawk almost took advantage as Concord settled, only for Conor McNamara to tip a goalbound effort aside.
Lewis Taaffe was the next man to come close, with Ross again coming out on top in between the posts.
Goalless at the break, it took 10 minutes for the away side to find the breakthrough. Bailey-Dennis found himself in a forward area and turned the ball home terrifically.
Cox came on for the final 17 minutes, and it took him just four to net his first for the club as he burst through and scored, after his initial effort was saved.
And that was how it stayed.
Concord Rangers: McNamara, Hammond, Stephen, Dowie, Easterford, Bailey-Dennis, Taaffe, White, Greenhalgh (Cox), Cawley (Cornhill), Gardner (Ranger)
