BREEZY conditions hampered scoring in Rochford Hundred’s medal as only five players managed to par or better.
Thomas Wells (3) produced the best gross and net score to win Division One with a net 68.
Henry Gibbons (5) was second with net 71, from four-handicapper David Beale.
Long-time member Jack Taylor (8) took the Division Two honours with a net 78, with Richard Leigh (9) a shot behind in second.
Michael Hyam (18) won Division Three honours with a par-breaking 69 from Alan McEwen (20) playing to his handicap with a net 71.
Rochford Hundred have just introduced a new “tiered membership” fee for 18-40-year olds as well as having suspended the joining fee and this reflected in a larger than usual playing field for this time of the year.
