NETBALL players from a Basildon secondary school are celebrating after being crowned district champions.
Both the Year 7 and Year 8 girls From Woodlands School won their district competitions, with both teams undefeated throughout the season.
And the Year 7 team also won their Essex Cup Plate final by defeating Brentwood's St Martin's School 27-11.
Their district success saw the Year 7s defeat Billericay's Mayflower 41-5, Wickford's Beauchamps 30-3, Basildon's De La Salle 26-0, Wickford's Bromford 17-2 and Billericay School 37-4.
"The girls played fantastic throughout both tournaments and did well to only concede a few goals in the district tournament," said PE teacher Hayley Clarke.
"The Year 7 girls hope to continue their winning streak into next year."
