THE hotter weather at the start of the week saw the carp continue to feed on the surface with mainly double figure carp being landed at Doggetts Farm Fisheries.
While the bigger fish did supply some heart stopping battles none made the net. However, once the weather changed the carp activity slowed but zig rigs did land a few fish.
Tom Stafford spent an evening on the short arm landing a pretty mid double mirror on a short stalking rod and zig foam fished as a floater.
Charlie Ridpath landed a very fat mid double mirror from the road bank which gave a terrific fight on his light tackle.
Brad Leiper landed his first Doggetts carp on a zig rig fished from the south bank and Mike Spooner eventually managed to get a rig where he wanted and was surprised to land one of the few Doggets low double cat fish.
Tony Mills had an upper double common and four tench from Hats but his fishing companion Martin Smith lost a better fish from the gulley.
The float fishing even slowed at the week due to the change in weather but a few tench put in an appearance which boosted the usual bags of roach and bream.
