BOWERS & Pitsea battled back to take the points against Ware, as their star strikers came to the fore in Hertfordshire.

A goal down at half-time, Brad Warner, David Knight and Lewis Manor all combined excellently to help overturn that deficit, with Manor striking the winner on his return to the side 15 minutes from time.

Bowers started well and could have been awarded an early penalty after a robust challenge on Knight in the penalty area.

Knight and Callum Leahy saw half-chances come and go while Ware rattled the frame of the goal up the other end.

Warner had an effort pushed over the bar by the goalkeeper before Ware went ahead.

On-loan Billericay striker Josh Oyinsan headed in from close range but Bowers still looked the more dangerous.

Leahy’s header was cleared off the line but Bowers had to wait until 57 minutes before parity came.

Warner won and converted a penalty with ease before a well worked move put Rob Small’s side ahead.

Substitute Lewis Manor sent Vinny Durrant scampering away. He in turn found Knight and his cut-back was swept home clinically by Warner.

But six minutes later it was 2-2 as Joe Reynolds' effort found Rhys Madden’s net from the edge of the box.

Knight hit the post before Manor had the last laugh, picking up the pieces and beating the goalkeeper.
