SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is aiming to complete a loan swoop for a teenage Tottenham Hotspur midfielder in time for him to figure at Fleetwood Town tomorrow, Echosport can reveal.

The youngster trained with Blues yesterday.

And Brown is keen to add him to the squad for this weekend’s clash.

“There are still a few thing to sort out but we’re hopeful of being able to get the deal done,” said the Shrimpers chief.

“He would definitely be a good signing for us.”

Brown was not willing to reveal the player’s identity.

But the midfielder is understood to have represented England at junior level and is still waiting to make a senior first team appearance.
