SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has yet to discover whether or not Will Atkinson will be able to figure at Oxford United tonight.
The Shrimpers are appealing against the red card Atkinson received against Millwall at the weekend.
But Brown is not expecting to discover whether or not the decision will be overturned until half way through Blues’ journey to the Kassam Stadium.
“We don’t know what’s happening with Will at the moment and we won’t know until after we’ve left for the game either,” confirmed Brown.
“We’ve put our case forward and given our evidence but it’s out of our hands now really.
“If Will is cleared then he will start but if he’s not then others will come into my thinking including Jermaine McGlashan and Luke Amos.”
Atkinson will serve a three match ban if the red card is not overturned.
