TWO talented martial artists have continued a remarkable run of success at the National Youth Championships.
Samuel Campbell, 18, and Skye Taylor, 10, of Stock Shotokan Karate Club, in Thundersley travelled to Chesterfield where they competed in the Karate Union of Great Britain`s National Youth Championships, along with other members at the club.
Campbell fought his way to the semi-final stage where he came up against a very strong fighter from Leeds and narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
However, he wasn’t to come home empty handed as he scooped the third place prize.
Skye also won a third place medal, beating many opponents on her way to the finals of the children’s Kata (form) category.
Lee Brittney, Eloise Platt and Connor Coleman also travelled to Chesterfield but missed out on medals this time.
And club instructors Terry Irving and Adam Purkiss were full of pride for the team’s efforts.
“We are very proud of all the students at Stock SKC,” they said.
“They all train extremely hard and that reflects on their competition success this year.
“We have also just held a grading and all the students passed with flying colours. Well done to them all.”
Stock SKC train children aged six and upwards.
