SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown will be catching the eye with his brightly coloured boots this season.
Brown has often complained about the modern footballers’ choice of footwear.
But the Shrimpers squad have been able to get their own back.
“The first night in Spain was a relaxing one before the hard work got underway so some of the lads went out and I told Michael Timlin it was his responsibility to get me a pair of football boots,” explained Brown.
“The under 21s players had an 11pm curfew and it was up to them to bring the boots back so Dru Yearwood came back and handed me these bright yellow things which I have to wear now.
“Being honest I’m not sure they will last the season!”
