LEWIS Taaffe scored his first goals since returning to Concord Rangers to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat against Truro City.
Concord had led only for two goals in the final 10 minutes put the Cornish side in charge.
But up popped Taaffe to net the leveller deep into injury-time for Concord, who had Louis Wells to thank for a hugely impressive afternoon in the home goal.
The Beach Boys almost got the perfect start against a side who had beaten them on both previous visits to Essex.
Rangy striker Jordan Cox raced through but, although he rounded goalkeeper Tom McHale, his shot was cleared off the goal-line.
Taaffe blasted a shot down the keeper’s throat before Wells was called into action up the other end.
A terrific save denied Andrew Neal, who was then halted by some last-ditch defending from Billy Roast.
Cox sent a powerful drive at goal as half-time approached but there was nothing to separate the sides.
Truro had a guilt-edged chance to take the lead at the start of the second-half, but they were unable to take it thanks to the excellence of Wells.
Awarded a penalty, Wells got down brilliantly to block away and Concord took advantage five minutes later.
A ball fell to Taaffe in the area and he hammered home.
Back came Truro and it was two substitutes that swung the match in the away team’s favour.
Noah Keats squeezed a shot inside the far post with Wells helpless on this occasion.
And Stewart Yetton scored again three minutes later, heading into the goal, to Concord’s dismay.
But Taaffe blasted home an equaliser on the stroke of the full-time whistle to the home fans’ delight.
Concord Rangers: Wells, Girdlestone, Brown (Da Costa 89’), Lee, King, Roast, Taaffe, Nasha, Cox (Topley 55’), Cawley, Farrell
