EAST Thurrock United are ‘more than good enough’ to set up an FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie against Ebbsfleet United.
That is the view of manager John Coventry, who watched his side put in a disappointing display to draw 2-2 with Harlow Town on Saturday.
Coventry was critical of his team’s performance that day, but says they will be better tonight, as they bid to reach the first round of the competition.
“We didn’t turn up on Saturday,” said Coventry. “By turning up tonight we will be better than we were on Saturday.
“The game was there for us and we couldn’t take the chance.
“The longer it went on the longer we gave them a chance to get something and they have players that are capable of causing us problems.
“We are struggling in terms of numbers and I am doing what I can with what I have.
“In terms of the match, we are good enough to win and progress, of course.
“But it is a cup competition and we need to be more like ourselves.”
The winners will welcome National League powerhouses Ebbsfleet United.
