DEAN Inman scored a brace on his second appearance for Billericay Town as they eased to a comfortable 3-0 win at Maldon & Tiptree in the Velocity Trophy.
The defender, a club record acquisition from Maidenhead United last month, scored twice after the interval to make the game safe, after Sanchez Watt had also netted on his debut.
Town took the lead after 15 minutes, former Arsenal and Southend United striker Watt blasting into the top corner of the net.
Jack Giddens, back between the posts for Town, was far from a spectator and made several neat saves in the first half.
Billy Bricknell and Louie Theophanous came close, before Town stretched their lead in the second half.
Inman headed home Jermaine Pennant’s free-kick on 66 minutes, before the same duo combined from a corner 10 minutes later to make it 3-0.
Dan Walker hit the crossbar five minutes before the break as Town eased through to secure a home tie against Heybridge Swifts in the third round.
