SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown admitted he fears being sacked following the Shrimpers’ 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.
The setback - which was Blues’ sixth loss in seven games - saw Brown’s side slip to 17th in the League One standings.
And that left the Shrimpers boss fearing for his future.
“You always fear the sack as a manager and it’s always in the back of your mind, especially in tight situations like this one,” said Brown.
“But I’ve got the backing of the chairman and we’ll see how far that goes.
“I’ve been here before and it’s not nice.
“I saw three good men lose their jobs this week but if I’m still in charge for Saturday’s game at Northampton we will prepare the best we can.”
Brown has been in charge of Blues since March 2013.
