BLUES boss Steve Tilson has confirmed he is still trying to bring a new striker to the club.
Fears remain over the quality of the forwards currently in the Shrimpers squad.
And Tilson is keen to bolster his options by signing another front-runner.
"We're still looking to bring in a striker," confirmed Tilson, who lost Freddy Eastwood to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer and missed out on the signature of Cork City hitman Roy O'Donovan.
"We want someone who can do a good job who has a bit of pace but everyone seems to be trying to sign a forward at the moment.
"There are not too many around but hopefully one will pop up and we can bring him in."
Meanwhile, Eastwood himself has been called-up to the Wales squad for next Wednesday's friendly with Bulgaria in the resort of Bourgas.
