SOUTHEND United’s under 23 coach Kevin Maher wants to end the season on a high tonight.
The Shrimpers face MK Dons at StadiumMK in the final of the Central League Cup this evening.
And Maher is keen to sign off for the summer in style.
“It’s nice to be finishing the season with a cup final and it would be even nicer if we could win it,” said Maher.
“We’ve had a few games with MK Dons this season and we’ve had a mixture of results.
“I think we’ve both won one and there has been a draw as well so it points towards a close game tonight.
“But it will be good to play at their stadium and hopefully we can produce the performance we need to win the game.”
Blues will again be without the injured Harry Phillips and Michael Klass tonight.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm.
