AUGUST is the month for teams to join the six-a-side soccer league on Mondays at Great Wakering Sports Centre.

Organisers Soccersixes are giving away loads of freebies to new teams that join.

All new teams signing up will get their first game free, be given a free kit to play in, free affiliation and also get a paintballing voucher for a free day out.

All this is worth £750.

The league is very popular at the venue with more than 100 people in action each week.

Qualified referees manage the league and ensure all teams are kept in order and the games are played in the right spirit.

Teams will play an intense 30 minute match each week with a qualified referee.

The league claims to be the cheapest in the area to play in and teams entering will have the chance to win a huge array of awards including: trophies or cash for winners and runners-up, player of the season, and a fair play award.

Teams will also have the opportunity of playing against other teams from leagues across England in Soccersixes' national cup.

The league is supported by England's Aston Villa star Gareth Barry and he said: "The leagues operated by Soccersixes.net look to be operated extremely well.

"Having visited one of their leagues I was impressed by the organisation and professionalism.

"When I was approached by Soccersixes to launch and support the leagues I was only too glad to get involved "A community six-a-side league will doubtless be good for the local area".

All equipment will be provided. Anyone over the age of 15 can enter and you do not need to be an organised or a established team.

You may simply be a group of friends, work colleagues or mates from the pub.

The league will be fully affiliated to the FA.
