SARACENS star Jackson Wray marked his 200th appearance for the club with a memorable 57-33 win against Wasps in the Premiership semi-final on Saturday.

Wray - a former King John School pupil - led the Saracens team out onto the pitch accompanied by his two young children.

And Wray - who has been voted Saracens’ player of the year by both the club’s players and supporters - admitted it was an afternoon he would never forget.

“It was something really special if I’m honest,” Wray told Saracens' official website.

“Coming out onto the pitch like that was quite emotional and that can be tricky before a big game like a Premiership semi-final.

“But I tried to switch on as quickly as I could and it’s something I’ll never forget.”

Saracens will now take on defending champions Exeter Chiefs this weekend.

And Wray is thrilled to have made it through to another final, courtesy of a strong performance from Saracens at Allianz Park.

“It was fantastic,” said Wray. “We had a few switch offs and when that happens a team like Wasps will hurt you.

“That was a little bit disappointing and it’s given us something to work on but, overall, we have to be delighted and we’re looking forward to the final now.”

Saracens made it through to the final thanks to an impressive display from fly-half Owen Farrell.

With the try count 6-5 in Saracens’ favour, it was Farrell’s unblemished 27-point haul that really made the difference after Dai Young’s swashbuckling underdogs had burst into life having trailed 30-5 early in the second half.

A relentless display by the home pack underpinned a victory that secures a place in next Saturday’s final at Twickenham, but once the game had opened up it was Wasps who set pulses racing in glorious conditions.

However, Saracens’ strong start paid dividends as they stayed in front and they will now be looking to secure a third title in four years.

Saracens are set to face Exeter Chiefs - who finished top of the regulation league table - after they saw off Newcastle Falcons 39-5 in the other semi-final at the weekend.

The exciting looking final takes place at Twickenham on Saturday, kicking off at 3pm.
