A TRIO of Premier Division teams will be hoping for a case of third team lucky this weekend.

Southend & EMT, Hadleigh & Thundersley and Billericay have all yet to win so far this season.

And all three sides will be hoping to put that right tomorrow.

Southend & EMT are currently bottom of the table after just two games.

And skipper Tom Phillippe is keen to pick up his side’s first win at home to Hornchurch tomorrow.

“The start of the season has been tough but we’ve been getting stronger every week,” said Phillippe.

“We have another tough game against Hornchurch but the confidence in the team is growing.

“Hopefully we can see that again on Saturday and we can get the result we want to kick start our season.”

Southend have made three changes to their starting line up for this weekend’s clash with Matt Wagstaff, Scott Simmons and Steve Hunt all coming into the team.

Hornchurch are again likely to include former England international Monty Panesar who took six wickets against Hadleigh last weekend.

Hadleigh will now be looking to bounce back when they host third placed Ilford at John Burrows Park.

And vice captain Adam Dobson is already relishing the encounter.

“We’re all looking forward to Saturday and feel it’s definitely a winnable match,” said Dobson.

“We’ve started the season competitively against strong opposition, however a couple of lapses in concentration in the field and with the bat have cost us, which is always going to happen at this level.

“All the boys are keen to put those little things right and if we do there is no reason why we cant come away with a positive result.”

Hadleigh are currently eighth in the 10 team table with Billericay immediately above them in seventh.

Lee Knight’s side - who were also promoted from Division One last season - have taken 11 points from their first two games this time around but have yet to win.

But Billericay will be bidding to put that right at home to Chelmsford this weekend.

Chelmsford are currently second from bottom in the standings and Knight is looking forward to the encounter.

“We will continue to enjoy the experience of playing at this level,” said Knight.

“Chelmsford are another good side and we are in for another tough game.

“But we’re looking forward to playing against them.”
