HADLEIGH & Thundersley skipper Richard Revell was left feeling frustrated following his side’s convincing defeat at Wanstead & Snaresbrook.

Hadleigh were beaten by 120 runs against their hosts.

And Revell was a disappointed figure at the close of play.

“It was another frustrating Saturday,” said Revell.

“We lost the toss and were put in the field which I was fairly happy about because the wicket looked like it had a bit in it for both ball and bat.

“We started really well but we were very unlucky not to take any early wickets. Decisions didn’t go our way and we missed the edge a few times.

“But irrespective of that we bowled and fielded.”

As a result, Wanstead ended their innings on 232/8 with Haider Ali Syed Zaidi the pick of Hadleigh’s bowlers as he took four wickets for 45 runs.

But, in reply, Hadleigh were dismissed for just 122.

Brandon Jacobs and Sam Handley top scored with 25 and Revell was disappointed by the low total.

“We got through our overs fairly quickly and thought with a good start the target was reachable,” said Revell.

“We started well but unfortunately our top order had starts they didn’t convert and the bottom order didn’t back up the good start we made. I felt a good draw was on the cards but our batting let us down.

“We have the ability with the bat to perform in this league but we just need a bit of confidence and application. I feel a win is just around the corner and hopefully we can mend our ways in time for our game against Billericay this Saturday.”
