BILLERICAY will be looking to make it back to back wins when they make the short trip to Hadleigh & Thundersley tomorrow.

Billericay secured their first Premier Division win of the season last time out, beating Shenfield by 61 runs.

And skipper Lee Knight is now keen to secure more of the same at John Burrows Park.

“It was great to get the win last time out, especially with it being our first of the season,” said Knight.

“It was a very good team performance which set us up nicely for Saturday’s match away at Hadleigh.

“We are looking forward to the game, especially after two unfortunate abandonments meant we didn’t actually get to play them last season.

“Last week’s win over Shenfield was a great confidence boost to the team and I’m hoping that will help us towards another good performance on Saturday”

Billericay - who have Andy Smith available again this weekend - head into the game sitting sixth in the Premier Division standings with 48 points from their opening four matches of the campaign.

Hadleigh - who were promoted alongside Billericay from Division One last season - have yet to win so far this season and are currently ninth in the 10 team table.

Last time out, Hadleigh were seen off by 120 runs against Wanstead & Snaresbrook.

But Hadleigh skipper Richard Revell remains confident of soon getting back on track.

“We started well but unfortunately our top order had starts but didn’t convert and the bottom order didn’t back up the good start we made. I felt a good draw was on the cards but our batting let us down.

“We have the ability with the bat to perform in this league but we just need a bit of confidence and application. I feel a win is just around the corner and hopefully we can mend our ways in time for our game against Billericay this Saturday.”

Southend & EMT have also yet to win this season.

But skipper Tom Phillippe remains buoyant heading into tomorrow’s game at home to Wanstead & Snaresbrook.

“We feel confident,” said Phillippe.

“We are working hard at our game and feel and see improvements every week.

“We’re one big win away from going on a run but Wanstead will be a tough game.

“They are last year’s national champions and will no doubt bring a very tough and strong side but we are up for the challenge.”
