ECHOSPORT talks to Luton Town supporter Callum Francis ahead of tonight’s contest at Kenilworth Road.

What are the hopes for Luton this season following on from last season’s promotion from League Two?

“I think mid-table has to be the aim this season and hopefully we will be able to beat the odd team who are higher than us.

“I personally think our season will be defined by the results we pick up against teams with lower budgets than us like Accrington Stanley and Wycombe.

“I would be happy with 20th as I think we need to consolidate this season after 10 years away from League One.

“But if we can get a run going we could finish far higher and maybe even be in the mix for the play-offs.

“My main worry would be losing Nathan Jones if a Championship club sack their manager.”

What have you made of the season so far?

“We’ve been really unlucky so far and should have picked up more than just a point.

“But at the same time the Peterborough game at the weekend showed there’s lot to work on.”

Nathan Jones, Alan McCormack and Glen Rea have all had spells at Southend in the past. How are they viewed by the Luton fans now?

“Nathan has been great and I personally think we’ll be lucky to have him here next season if results keep improving.

“Glen is best described as a bit of a nutter and loves kicking the ball as hard as he can!

“McCormack is actually what we’ve needed for years and our results fell away last year when he didn’t play so it’s a concern he went off injured at the weekend.”

What’s the team news ahead of tonight’s game?

“McCormack has a calf problem and he won’t be playing tonight.

“Rea replaced him at the weekend so I would imagine he will come into the starting line-up tonight.”

“Luke Berry is also out injured.”
