FORMER Eastwood Academy pupil Cameron Carter-Vickers is closing in on a season-long loan move to Swansea City.
Carter-Vickers, who was born in Southend, has been told he can leave Tottenham Hotspur on a temporary basis in a bid to enjoy more first team football.
And the 20-year-old has been linked with several Championship clubs following loan spells at Sheffield United and Ipswich Town last season.
But Swansea, who suffered relegation from the Premier League last term, have emerged as the favourites to sign the United States international.
Swans manager Graham Potter is looking to bolster his defensive options after centre-backs Alfie Mawson, Federico Fernandez, Kyle Bartley and Jordi Amat were sold during the summer.
Carter-Vickers, who has won four international caps for the United States, signed a new deal with Tottenham until 2021 in May.
Swansea have made an unbeaten start to the season and sit sixth in the Championship standings.
The loan window for EFL clubs closes on August 31.
