ROCHFORD Hundred started life in London One North with an emphatic 74-0 win against Amersham & Chiltern.

Rochford won London Two North East without losing a single game last season.

And they kicked off the new campaign in fine style on Saturday, with summer signing Norbertas Radzevicius scoring two tries on his debut.

“Making my debut at the club and scoring two tries in the first game was amazing,” said the winger.

“The support at the weekend was unreal from everyone at the club and from those who came to watch.

“Hopefully my performance has been enough to please the coaches and I have a higher chance to be selected for Saturday’s derby with Southend.”

Radzevicius, Sonny Gay and Danny Cleare all scored two tries at the weekend, while Rochford were also awarded two penalty tries.

Harry Hudson, Michael Guess and Markk Ikhifa also touched down while Cameron Greenhall and Gay added the conversions.

And Radzevicius was pleased to start the season with a fine win.

“It was a good win,” said Radzevicius.

“Amersham were a physical side and made scoring a hard graft at times.

“As a team, I think we all did well throughout the game but, looking further, it wasn’t 100 per cent what we wanted at the end of the match.

“We’re just at the start of the season so we’ve still got a few things to work on and add to the team and our game.”

Rochford visit Southend Saxons this weekend.
