HENRY Morrant wants Westcliff to make it two wins from two this weekend but knows Sidcup will be tough to beat.

Westcliff started the new London & SE Premier Division season with a 27-20 win against Dorking on Saturday.

And Morrant, who lined up at scrum-half, is keen to follow up that success with another victory.

“It’s always good to get off to a winning start, especially against a physical side like Dorking, but we want to go and build on that now,” said Morrant.

“We’re expecting another tough test at Sidcup, who got a good result against Shelford last week.

“But we’ve had another decent week of preparation under our belts and we’ll be going there to give it our best shot.”

Westcliff finished sixth in the standings, two places higher than Sidcup last season.

And Westcliff will be heading into the latest meeting on a high, despite Morrant feeling there is still more to come from the team.

“I thought Saturday’s match showed that we’ve still got plenty to work on but that we’ve got enough about us to dig deep and get the result we want, which is good,” said the 23-year-old.

“But we want to keep on improving and see how close we can get to last year then hopefully push on to the places above that.”
