GLENN Tamplin says he will be speaking with ‘some experienced names’ with a view to joining Billericay Town’s management team.

A dramatic fortnight has seen Harry Wheeler dismissed and Town’s first team coach Tristan Lewis and sports scientist Craig Lewis are now expected to follow Wheeler to Maidstone United, following Wheeler’s appointment as manager.

The Echo understands former Stones player and ex-Margate manager Steve Watt was in the frame to join the club as a coach, although those plans have since been shelved.

And Tamplin says he will fill the void left by the departing trio, taking to social media to reveal he would be interviewing potential replacements ‘over the next few days’.

“I will be speaking to some experienced names over the next few days that I promise will fill the void left by Harry, Tristan and Craig’s departures,” said Tamplin on Twitter.

“I am really pleased for Harry with the Maidstone role and want to say thanks to Tristan and Craig for their time at the club.”

Tamplin and Danny Hazle are the only members of the management team remaining at the AGP Arena.

The Billericay owner sacked Wheeler more than two weeks ago - citing personal differences - a decision he has since admitted was a mistake.

Tamplin said on Saturday that first team coach Lewis would be ‘the main man’ in the dugout, along with himself and Hazle. But Lewis has since left the club.

Billericay play Dartford on Saturday, who are joint-managed by former Concord Rangers chief Adam Flanagan.
