IN-FORM Bowers & Pitsea striker David Knight is looking forward to returning to the Len Salmon Stadium for the first time this season.

Rob Small’s Isthmian North side have been staging their home fixtures at Aveley’s Parkside while the new artificial surface has been installed at Bowers’ home.

But Felixstowe & Walton United, who are flying high following promotion last term, will be the first visitors to the revamped Len Salmon Stadium tomorrow.

And Knight is intent on sealing three points on the first day back on home soil.

The frontman said: “It’s the first home game of the season which is actually at home, so we’re looking forward to it.

“We have been playing at Aveley and the same company who did their pitch also did ours, so playing our home games there couldn’t have done us any harm in adjusting to playing on an artificial pitch more regularly.

“While we’ve been playing at Aveley, we haven’t lost and we’ve only conceded one goal, so hopefully we can take that over to our original home.

“It will be nice to get back to the Len Salmon Stadium and play in front of our fans.

“Hopefully we can get the three points.”

Knight will go into the clash having scored four goals in the thumping FA Cup first qualifying round win over Takeley last time out.

And Knight is looking to get on the scoresheet again when Felixstowe & Walton United visit this weekend.

“The Takeley game couldn’t have gone much better,” admitted Knight.

“We haven’t got the best of FA Cup records, so it was good to go through.

“It was great to score four goals and for Lewis Manor to get his first goal of the season as well.”
