HULLBRIDGE Sports will be looking to remain the Essex Senior League leaders by picking up three points against Walthamstow.

However, Walthamstow have also made a fine start to the season and find themselves in fourth place.

And Sports boss Darren Manning believes there is still room for improvement despite his side’s impressive start.

Manning said: “It’s a big game for us, but it is also a massive month and the big games keep on coming.

“We played Hoddesdon Town last week and then we’ve still got to play Saffron Walden Town and Takeley in the next few weeks. We’ve got all of the top teams in one go.

“We’ll know where we are come the end of the month because I think we’re still not in full flow yet.

“We’ve got things we need to work on.”

Meanwhile, Southend Manor will turn their attentions to the FA Vase second qualifying round as they welcome Haverhill Rovers tomorrow.

And Manor head into the clash having progressed in the Essex Senior Cup.

Manor recovered from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 and win 3-0 on penalties against Ilford.

Boss Adam Peek said: “It’s the third time this season that we’ve come back from two goals down.

“It shows we’ve got character but we need to stop conceding.

“This is a big game for the club because the FA Vase brings in extra revenue.

“I don’t think the club has been in the first round proper for a while either, so it would be great to get a win.”
