A LATE equaliser saw Billericay Town miss out on hitting top spot in the National League South.

Jake Robinson netted a penalty after the break, but the striker was unable to convert a first half spot-kick, while Dartford converted deep into stoppage time to secure a 1-1 draw.

Robinson passed up a glorious opportunity to break the deadlock as he missed the target after being put through on goal.

But he passed up an even better chance soon after as the hosts were awarded a penalty, only for Robinson to send his effort crashing against the crossbar.

However, the top goalscorer made amends as he fired his second spot-kick into the corner of the net after the interval.

Dartford threatened to get on the scoresheet and it was heartbreak for Billericay as Dartford levelled in the dying moments.

Meanwhile, Concord Rangers fell to a 2-0 defeat at St Albans City.

Alex Wall passed up chances, while Lee Minshull was denied on the goal-line before the Saints went ahead.

With three minutes to go until the break, David Noble found the bottom corner of the net.

And despite the Beach Boys aiming to get back into the game, St Albans’ defence could not be breached and they added a second goal through Percy Kiangebeni.

Elsewhere, East Thurrock United lost 2-0 to Welling United.

An unmarked Brendan Kiernan grabbed the opener, while Jack Jebb added his name to the scoresheet to double the home side’s advantage before the break.

And John Coventry’s side were unable to break Welling’s resistance.
