COLCHESTER Rugby Club chairman Karl O'Brien believes the impressive form of the club's first team so far this season is a reflection of their flourishing overall set-up.

The Blacks' senior side head into their home game against Old Priorians tomorrow aiming to maintain their excellent start to the new London One North season.

Colchester have won all three of their opening league games and sit top of the table, ahead of this weekend's action.

Anthony O'Riordan's side have a large representation of home-grown talent in their line-up - and O'Brien says they are blossoming at all levels.

O'Brien said: “We’re a thriving club, from the youth and minis right through to the seniors.

“I think we’re putting out five teams this weekend which is very rare for any club these days."

Colchester will be aiming to stay ahead of nearest rivals Rochford Hundred and North Walsham, tomorrow.

The three clubs are currently level on points at the table, with the Blacks leading the way on points difference.
