QUENTIN Monville says there are plenty of reasons for Bowers & Pitsea to be excited about tomorrow’s FA Cup second qualifying round tie against Hemel Hempstead Town.

The 23-year-old winger moved to Bowers in the summer and has made an immediate impression, racking up a number of assists in the early weeks of term.

This weekend, Bowers welcome a team two divisions their senior to the newly refurbished Len Salmon Stadium.

But Monville says Bowers must embrace the occasion against managerless Hemel Hempstead.

“I can’t wait,” said the London-based wide man.

“It’s a massive game obviously on a personal level because it’s only the second time I’ve been to this stage. Also, it’s always nice playing against bigger opposition to see where you are at as a player.

“Not playing in last year’s FA Cup because of injury gives me that extra bit of excitement and for the club it’s a massive one for many reasons.

“It’s the furthest the club has ever been so to go through another round would be great for the fans.

“We are underdogs and we know Hemel will be a very good side, but the way I look at it we have nothing to lose. We will just play as we have been recently and give our all.”

Hemel come into the game having seen former manager Dean Brennan join Billericay Town earlier this week - with Darren Ward and captain Jordan Parkes set to lead the team.

But Monville is unconcerned and is keen to continue his own good start to life in red and white - whether it be scoring goals or contributing assists.

“I just want to carry on working hard for the team and creating chances for my team-mates,” said the former Billericay Town midfielder.

“Scoring goals is something I aim for but I get the same excitement for an assist.”
