TOM Ashton insists Rochford Hundred will not be taking anything for granted when they head to Fullerians in London One North.

Rochford - who were crowned London Two North East champions without losing a game last season - have triumphed in their opening three games of the campaign.

But Ashton feels that will fire up their opponents, starting with tomorrow’s clash.

“We have a target on our backs so everyone we face will bring their A game,” said Ashton.

“We will not be taking any opposition lightly.”

Rochford have taken the maximum 15 points from their first three games of the campaign and saw off HAC 54-27 at Magnolia Road on Saturday.

But Ashton - who bagged 19 points in the win - was not completely satisfied.

“I thought Saturday’s game was a frustrating one,” said Ashton.

“We put together some good passages of play and adapted well to what was put in front of us but then lapses of concentration in parts took the gloss off what was a good result.

“But for me personally I was happy to get my first start of the season.

“I feel in good shape and have been training well so was itching to get out on the field.”

However, Ashton will now be bidding for more of the same at lowly Fullerians as second-placed Rochford aim for another victory.

“The start we have made is a good one but that is all it is at the moment, a start,” said Ashton.

“We want to keep improving as a squad and make sure this very good group of players reaches its full potential.”
