SOUTHEND United midfielder Dru Yearwood continued his comeback from a hamstring injury in a behind closed doors clash this afternoon.

Yearwood - who has yet to appear for the first team this season - played an hour in Blues' 2-0 dfeat against MK Dons.

And the 18-year-old was pleased to be back in action at Roots Hall.

He said: “It was really good. I feel like I’m getting better each day but I understand the manager not wanting to push me too much and make me miss more games.”

Yearwood will now be pushing to be involved when Blues head to Wycombe Wanderers in League One this weekend.
