BILLERICAY Town manager Dean Brennan says it will ‘take time to create an identity’ after winning his opening game in charge.

Town were 4-1 victors against Burnham in the second qualifying round, with Moses Emmanuel netting twice and Connor Hunte and Sam Deering also on target.

Brennan joined Town last week and, while he admits he has more work to do, was full of praise for his charges.

He said: “The performance is always important. We’ve had two training sessions and the effort has been great. It takes time to create an identity but the players’ application in this game was 10/10.

“If we can add a few more and coach the players in the right way we will do well.

“If I decide to bring a player in it’s for the best of the team. I am disappointed by the lack of a clean sheet but it was a good goal.”
