SOUTHEND United face Wycombe Wanderers for the first time since the 2015 League Two play-off final this weekend.

The Shrimpers memorable triumphed on penalties at Wembley that afternoon after Joe Pigott had netted an injury time equaliser.

Echosport takes a closer look at the starting line-up that afternoon and details what they are up to now. 

DANIEL BENTLEY: Bentley memorably saved two Wycombe penalties in the shoot-out at Wembley and is now plying his trade in the Championship with Brentford.

The shot-stopper recently made his 100th appearance for the Bees.

JOHN WHITE: White skippered the Shrimpers at Wembley and remains at Roots Hall.

The defender has now switched to centre-back and is close to making his 200th appearance for the club.

CIAN BOLGER: Bolger bagged what proved to be Blues’ winning penalty in the shoot-out.

He now plays for Fleetwood Town and has been linked with a move to the Championship.

ADAM BARRETT: The popular defender retired in February 2017 and is now first team coach at Millwall, where he has teamed up with ex-Blues striker Neil Harris.

BEN COKER: The left-back is still with the Shrimpers and recently made his 200th appearance for the club. Now in the final year of his contract.

DAVID WORRALL: Worrall left Blues to join Millwall in 2016 but he is now back in League Two with Port Vale.

WILL ATKINSON: The hard-working midfielder moved on from Roots Hall in 2017 to join Mansfield Town.

However, Atkinson has not featured too often for the Stags so far this season.

RYAN LEONARD: The impressive Leonard joined Sheffield United for £750,000 in January 2018 but is now on loan at Millwall.

He is set to join the Lions permanently in a deal worth a reported £1.1million in January.

MICHAEL TIMLIN: The experienced midfielder left Blues in the summer and is now playing for Stevenage in League Two.

STEPHEN McLAUGHLIN: The winger was on loan with Blues for the final but signed permanently shortly after and is still at Roots Hall.

BARRY CORR: Wembley proved to be the striker’s last game for Blues as he joined Cambridge United, where he is still playing.

SUBSTITUTES:

Goalscoring hero Joe Pigott is now lining up in attack for AFC Wimbledon, while Jack Payne is currently on loan at Bradford City from Huddersfield Town.

Winger Myles Weston now plays in the National League for Ebbsfleet United.
