LOOKING AHEAD: Billericay Town welcome Whitehawk to the AGP Arena as they bid to reach the final qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Town, fresh from two wins in new manager Dean Brennan’s first two matches, are strong favourites against the Isthmian Premier League side.

Nine points from their first 10 matches back at the third tier of non-league represents an underwhelming start for Whitehawk, following their relegation from the National League South.

While the Hawks went down, Town came up and have made a comfortable transition to the second tier - currently occupying top spot after 11 matches.

Following a disappointing exit in the first round to Leatherhead last year - having done so well to get there - Town will be keen to make this year’s run in the competition count.

MANAGER’S VIEW: “We are strong favourites to win,” said Brennan. “Whitehawk are a team I know a lot about and they have exciting wingers so have a threat and nothing to lose.

“We always respect the opposition and we set our standards at Hampton & Richmond Borough last week. We can’t reach those levels every week but we aspire to.

“You need a bit of luck in the cup, no matter who you are, as upsets are possible.

“Lincoln beat Burnley last year and if that can happen anything can happen.

“We don’t want to be the story of the round.”

TEAM NEWS: Ricky Modeste, Callum Kennedy and Alfie Potter are injured.
