LOOKING AHEAD: Bowers & Pitsea will be determined to end their mini blip against Witham Town tomorrow.

Rob Small’s team have not won in any of their last four games, including two cup exits and two league draws.

The manager says he is unconcerned and while Bowers remain in the play-off positions they are already 10 points adrift of neighbours Basildon United.

Next up is a test against Witham, who are managed by former Bowers coach Mark Ashford.

One win from their first seven games does not represent a favourable return and they have lost four of their last five league matches although were victorious in their last encounter - beating Coggeshall Town in the FA Trophy.

MANAGER’S VIEW: “I will never go into any game expecting to win, no matter their league position,” said Small. “Mark [Ashford] knows us well and there are some of our ex-players there too so it is going to be a very tough game. They beat Coggeshall recently and are full of confidence.

“This is only the second game we have played on grass this season. We are on a run that is not up to our standards so we need to do the basics well and work hard without the ball.”
