DRU Yearwood is desperate to make up for lost time at Southend United.

The Shrimpers starlet made his first start of the season in Tuesday night’s 2-1 triumph at Burton Albion after recovering from a hamstring injury.

And the 18-year-old midfielder is determined to build on the win when Oxford United visit Roots Hall tomorrow.

“I’m very, very happy to be back and I can’t wait for the games now I’m back fit,” said Yearwood.

“It was really tough being injured and that’s definitely the worst thing about football.

“I know I’m not back to my best just yet and the appearances I’ve had so far aren’t up there with my best.

“But I feel good and hopefully I’ll get better the more I play so it would be great to get more minutes tomorrow.”
