CLACTON Swimming Club competed in two different galas during a busy September.

The first was at Braintree.

It was a very fast-paced meet, with some wonderful swims and lots of medals.

Clacton's Millie Hearne also won the top girl award with an amazing five gold and one silver medal.

The second gala of the month was in Sudbury, where, again, the team brought back a haul of medals, more county times and new modern club records.

Coach Lisa Lawrence said: "I'm so proud of the team.

"The swimmers are growing in numbers, as well as in confidence, and go to galas as a great team with a wonderful attitude.

"We're hoping to take our largest team of qualifiers in the club's modern history to the London Aquatic Centre for the county finals in February.

"We're well on the way to achieving this."
