ISOBEL Boyd was full of praise after C&K Basildon Ladies’ under-18 side claimed a thumping win.
C&K Basildon’s up-and-coming stars cruised past East Bergholt United’s under-18s as they registered a comprehensive 14-0 victory.
And Boyd was pleased to move to the league summit after seeing off their fellow title challengers.
The C&K Basildon skipper said: “Our dominance early in the game set the pace, making it hard for East Bergholt to get on the ball.
“We’re a new team and still learning about each other’s game.
“I’m really proud of the way all the players worked as a team to get the result.”
C&K Basildon went into the clash having conceded the first goal in each of their last two outings.
But C&K Basildon were determined to get off to a fine start and were quick to put their opponents under pressure.
And the dominance paid off as C&K Basildon broke the deadlock with just 10 minutes on the clock.
East Bergholt were put under constant pressure and intelligent passing football from C&K Basildon resulted in the hosts reaching double figures before the break.
Having scored 10 goals in the opening 45 minutes, the second half was a quieter affair.
But C&K Basildon continued to control the encounter and added a further four goals while shutting out East Bergholt to keep a clean sheet.
