ROCHFORD Hundred skipper Harry Hudson is relishing facing another promotion rival tomorrow.

The London One North leaders saw off Colchester 27-10 last weekend.

And Hudson insists Rochford have now set their sights on beating North Walsham, who overtook Colchester to sit second in the standings.

“Saturday is again first versus second so it will be another competitive fixture and one that the team is looking forward to playing,” said Hudson.

“It will be a different challenge to last week as they were more direct but North Walsham play a more expansive game so our wide defence will need to be strong.”

Rochford won London Two North East without losing a single game last season and have yet to be beaten this term too.

As a result, Hundred are five points clear at the top of the table and Hudson felt Saturday’s win was particularly satisfying.

“Every win has been pleasing but Colchester was a little bit more pleasing obviously as it was first versus second,” said Hudson.

“They had also been saying we haven’t really played anyone.

“We were in control for most of the game but lost that after half-time so it was pleasing to regain it and go on to get the bonus point.”

Rochford will now be bidding for more of the same against North Walsham, who have triumphed in seven of their eight games so far this season.

Walsham’s only defeat this term came against Colchester and Rochford will be confident of extending their unbeaten run at Magnolia Road.

Hundred have already scored 503 points in their eight outings this season and also boast the best defensive record having conceded just 68 points.
