FORMER Southend United manager Phil Brown has been relieved of his duties by Swindon Town.

Brown - who bossed Blues between March 2013 and January 2018 - took control of the Robins in March.

But, after just 32 games in charge, the 59-year-old has been dismissed.

A club statement said: "Swindon Town Football Club can today confirm that Phil Brown, has been relieved of his duties as First-Team Manager.

"Assistant Manager, Neil McDonald will also be leaving the club with immediate effect.

"Swindon Town Football Club would like to put on record its thanks for the efforts of Phil and Neil in their time at SN1, and wish them all the best in their future endeavours"

Swindon are currently 17th in the League Two standings but did beat York City 2-1 in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
