The English National Masters Swimming Competition proved to be a huge success for Rochford and District Swimming Club.
The club won nine golds and three bronzes, and included many personal best performances.
Five of the gold medals went to the 240+ years relay team, consisting of Eileen Luther, Heidi Nevin, Geoff Baker and Phil Harper. Eileen Luther also won the 50m and 100m backstroke events and Heidi Nevin the 200m breaststroke for their respective age groups.
Crowd pleaser of the weekend, Josh Stratford, took the national title in the 1500m freestyle, winning by a clear margin and posting an all time PB. Heidi Nevin also claimed a bronze medal in this event. Other bronze medals went to Danny Baker and James Grigg in the 200m butterfly and the 200m backstroke respectively.
Chloe Drake, Michael Baker and Stewart Finn completed the line up, with some great swims and personal best performances.
