ROB Small has backed Lewis Manor to finish his career at Bowers & Pitsea.

Manor is the Isthmian North table-toppers’ all-time record scorer and added two more goals to his tally in the 3-0 victory over Mildenhall Town last time out.

And Small is hopeful that Manor, 27, will continue to get his name on the scoresheet in the red and white of Bowers for many more years to come.

The Bowers boss said: “The word legend gets banded around too often but when he decides to pack it up, he will surely be seen as a Bowers legend.

“He has become part of the club now and I’m sure he will be seen as a legend by everyone at the club.

“Danny Heale scored bags of goals for Concord Rangers and is regarded highly for it.

“I think Lewis is similar in that respect and I can’t see Lewis playing anywhere else for the rest of his career because he is happy here.

“He is nowhere near finished and I told them that they should name one of the new stands after him!”

Two new stands have been built either side of the dugouts at the Len Salmon Stadium, with supporters having the chance to watch the action from the new seats for the first time in the win over Mildenhall.

And, following an artificial surface being installed at Bowers’ home over the summer and earlier in the campaign, Small is proved with the improvements being made at the club.

“It’s great that the new stands are now in place and the stadium is improving,” added Small.

“It’s fantastic to be a part of the football club.”
